TALENTS: A SPECIAL SHARING WITH P1 AND P2

Written by Super User. Posted in Home

“Think of the special talents you have. Are you good with computers? Do you like to care for animals? Are you a good cook? Can you paint?

Those special talents are important. You can use those talents to help others. So be generous with your talents! Start to share them. Think of the ways your talents can help others. Find a project that will allow you to share something special about yourself. Perhaps you like to spend time with the elderly. You might volunteer to visit older people in a nursing home.

Don’t worry if you can’t think of a special talent, though. Volunteering will help you learn new skill”

Adapted from Fantastic Voyage, unit 2 Collection for Readers.

This special sharing was championed by John Baptist Mutunzi and Phionah Maliza who shared their life with the boys. The sharing began with one of the pupils reading the quoted words adapted from Fantastic Voyage, unit 2 Collection for Readers. Then everyone shared their talents and hobbies.

After the sharing session, the pupils were inspired to take on with their talents. They were argued to carry on with their talents and they promised to do so.

The sharing included the following pupils; KAFEERO EMMANUEL, TABULA SEMEON GABRIEL, KUTEESA JAMES, SSUNA BENEDICTO, KIWENDO HENRY, KALEMA RONALD, KATUMBA EMMA, WANBOGO DAVID, KIMWERA PIUS, MIVULE JOHN who participated actively.

Pupils writing the exams

Examination confidence leads to success

The early morning of yesterday marked the beginning of midterm examinations for our pupils. The day was started with a school assembly were the pupils sung the Uganda national anthem, said a word of prayer, briefed by the teachers and later blessed by the priest. By the end of 5th June, two exams had been completed. Today on the 6th, two exams are going on today and finally the pupils will be finishing their exams tomorrow. We continue to pray for them and their education.

THE MAIZE HARVEST

Written by Super User. Posted in Home

Part of the harvested garden

In the previous articles wrote about “maize seen at a mature stage” where we went ahead to show hopes of our maize getting ready for harvest. Surely, we can lose all things in this world but not hope. Our hope has brought us to the harvest of our maize. The harvest is really much and matching the labor. The dry maize looks nice and ready for more sunshine to purely dry and wait for its journey to the maize mill where it will be transformed into flour meant for porridge and posho. The maize residue will help us feed our animals and birds. We really thank God for our rich harvest.

BANANAS: "MATOOKE"

Written by Super User. Posted in Home

Matooke

Matooke is the staple food for Buganda and therefore it would shameful finding a family without a banana plantation however small a plot of land that contains this family. Matooke makes a complete diet for most of the parties and other functions. Holding that constant, Baganda can prove it that Matooke can go well with all the kinds of soup and sauce. We therefore applaud all people taking part in banana plantation countrywide.

Currently at Don Bosco CALM, everybody around can witness the progress of our garden each new day. The bananas have grown up now and they really look lively as they stand on the fertile ground situated near the piggery farm that supplies fertilizers. The palatable bananas are now part our diet and have helped the place to reduce the costs of food especially Matooke that is very costly in the country as I write.
