We reel extend our sincere gratitude to our dear beloved aunts (polish volunteers at Namugongo community), for the marvelous things they are doing for the boys of CALM, and for the community at large.This year, the CALM received two female volunteers from Poland that’s Mrs. Agnieszka and Mrs. Ola, and they are fully engaged in all the ongoing activities within the community especially in the domains of Academics, leisure activities (sports, games, films, music etc.), in the health sector, to mention but a few.

May the good Lord bless our community with more people of good will.

School Of Acrobatics

It is, and it has been always a wish of the Salesians of Don Bosco to promote talents among the youths. In this same line, the Salesian community of Namugongo-CALM has organized a special training in Acrobatics for its beloved boys; with experienced trainers from Kigali-Rwanda.This training will last for two months (September and October); and at its end; with the engagement that can be witnessed, the participating boys are expected to have reached on another level as far as acrobatics is concerned.

 

Let us all profit different occasions to express and promote our talents.

Inter saints competition

It is always during holidays that the sports team of Don Bosco- CALM Namugongo organizes a tenement in which all the boys have an occasion to express themselves on the level of sports.

This time, the tenement possesses a name of “inter-saint competition”, with 3 junior teams (below 15 years) and 6 teams for the adults (above 15 years). It is organized on the level of football, basketball and volleyball. Different gifts are expected to be given to the winning team; best player; most disciplined player; youngest player; best scorer; best goalkeeper; the team and the player with many supporters; the best coach; and finally the best referee.

Five days in the youth forum

From the 5th to 10th/09/2016, a big number of youths from the four salesian communities of Uganda gathered at St. Joseph VTC /Kamuli salesian community; to participate in the youth forum that had been organized with a theme “Keep Calm! It’s A Holy Blast.” Different educative activities covered up the five days of the youths’ presence in kamuli and these included: Adoration of the holy sacrament, Eucharistic cerebration, the penitential service as well as the sacrament of reconciliation. Different sessions were also held and these include: a session on the media; on racism/tribalism; on vocation and salesian prayer; on pornography and finally on sexuality.
