Primary one

Written by Lydia $ Angel. Posted in Home

Primary one consist of six boys and four girls making a total of ten pupils of which one boy called Kafeero Emmanuel is taught differently because he is not of their level.   The following is a list of primary one class: Kuteesa James, Yiga Maria Mackrine, Katumba Enock, Muthoni Glennis Kinyua. Masibo Claire, Ssemwogerere Ricky, Tabul Simeon Gabriel .Kiwendo Henry, Mundua Fortunate F, Kafeero Emmanuel. The above class is handled by two teachers that is; Madam Owomugisha Angel - class teacher, and Madam Nakamya Lydia.

About the academics, we started handling primary one class on 22rd February, 2016 whereby work was not easy for us since we were new as well as pupils.  The first problem we identified was handwriting which gave us a task to see that it was improved but now as I talk am privileged  to see all of them have improved compared the way they came including one child who did not know how to handle a pencil properly and copy work from  the chalkboard. In addition to that reading was also a big issue to most of our pupils in primary one which prompted us to add in much effort to see an improvement some pupils could not identify letters of alphabet but now do.  Since the term began we have managed to do Exams that is Mid-term.

Don Bosco Primary School Sports Day

Written by Fr Jean Marie Mushibwe. Posted in Home

The activities of the day started with the Brass Band match from the school to the Sports ground.  At exactly 10:00 am the activities kicked off and the participating colours with their patron Saints as follow: Green – St. Laura, Blue – St. Kizito, Red – St. Charles Lwanga and Yellow St. Savio.

It all started with the singing the Anthems and prayer.  When activities reached the climax, the Director Fr. Jean Marie Mushibwe  led the guests and parents for tug of war with the teachers, this was the most interesting activity. More entertainment came from the acrobatics from the children, both parents, guests, pupils and teachers had lunch break. The afternoon activities resumed immediately, the chief guest supretendant of police Sserunjogi John Baptist arrived, he was welcomed and led from the main gate to the field with pupils matching with a Brass Band. The remaining items continued and after a short while the Head teacher Mr. Ocom gave his speech; invited the Director to invite the chief guest to give his speech. The chief guest introduced the people he had moved with, gave an educative speech, and thanked the Director, the teaching staff for the great initiative, since the school was only three months and was able to put such a good performance. When the chief guest finished to deliver his speech, the Director of the school Fr. Jean Marie Mushibwe escorted him, other activities continued for a short time and the weather interrupted with a heavy down pour. Appreciation goes to the Director Fr. Jean Marie Mushibwe for the great support he gave for the colourful organisation of the day activities, the delicious meals and drinks.  Many thanks go to members of CALM, the community, Head teacher, Secretary, the teaching staff, the parents who attended and our pupils who made the day colourful.

Education is a key to success

Written by Fr Jean Marie Mushibwe. Posted in Home

Many believe that education is a key to success, while others believe that education pays and many other mottos on education, however we at Don Bosco – CALM believe in true education and it is for this reason that we have education as our main channel of rehabilitating the children that we have rescued from unpleasant situations as we prepare them for full reintegration in the society.
