The father of Denis died in 2002 when the mother was pregnant (with Denis in the womb). The father was the one providing for the family. The father left three children and Denis still in the womb. The mother had no income and the religious nun intervened and helped the two elder siblings leaving Denis and Andrew with the mother. When Denis reached school going age, it became difficult for the mother to provide all the needs and due to many difficulties, she contacted a parish priest in her area for help. The priest knew about Don Bosco. Our Centre sometimes works in collaboration with some religious priests and nuns who are in parishes to identify some of the cases which are seriously in need. The staff of CALM made an assessment and realized that this boy was really in need. He is now at Don Bosco CALM together with other children.

O God, we thank you for giving us another year 2016 of life. We thank you for all the people who have remembered us today, and who have sent us cards, letters good wishes, e-mail and presents. We thank you for everything, which we have been enable by you to do and to be in the past year 2015.

We thank you for all the experiences of the past year 2015. For the times of the success which will always be happy memories; for times of failure which reminded us of our own weakness and of our need of you; for times of joy when the sun was shining; for times of sorrow which drove us to you.

Forgive us for the hours we have wasted; for the chances we failed to take; for the opportunities we missed in the past 2015. Forgive us that we have not made of life all that I might have of it and could have made of it; and help us in the days which lie ahead to make this best year yet, and in it to bring credit to ourselves, happiness to our loved ones and joy to you. This prayer we ask of you through Christ our Lord.

Catastrophe at Don Bosco CALM Namugongo.

The roof of the primary school Don Bosco Namugongo flew this night around 1. 00 AM. Some parts of the roof flew up to the entry of the Salesian community. This was due to frequent torrential rains shaking these deays Uganda in general and Kampala in particular. The heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms has made toggle the hope of the province of the AGL to open a Don Bosco primary school in January of next year 2016.The rain of the previous night had destroyed the angle of the top, from the west side, which supports the roof. The destroyed part has left a large hole through which the wind of this last night passed. The engineer was immediately alerted and together we decided to prevent the catastrophe by mobilizing workers not later than Monday 21/12/2015. Unfortunately, man sometimes decides and the nature decides otherwise. Now the catastrophe has occurred, and we are assuming its terrible consequences. By this time, the Engineer is at the place trying to calculate the costs of the damage. And he promised to engage its workers this Sunday morning to try to prevent the whole building from falling down in case the same vigorous rain comes back tonight.
